Screening Try Harder for both high school students and parents of high school students provided an avenue for a powerful dialogue about fit over ranking as well as the many aspects that should be considered in the college search. The individuals featured in the film provide relatable perspectives about the joys and pressures of high school life. I highly recommend the film, student workbook, and holding a panel presentation.

Try Harder!” is must-watch viewing for parents or students faced with the daunting task of applying to college. As parents currently going through it with our son, the film brings the high stress of the application process into sharper focus, reminding us that a university degree should never come at the cost of our children’s mental well-being.
